Here in New York, dorkbot is a monthly meeting of
people doing strange things (mostly) with electricity.
If you are not in New York or in the US
you can still find a dorkbot un your part of the woods:

dorkbot was started about 10 years ago by Douglas Repetto.
He is still running the show in his friendly way
and signs up the presenters.

The format is very informal and normally contains 3
presentations of things the presenters are involved in.
The subjects span from very technical subjects to
artistic ones often using cheap technology in
creative ways.
